A chauffeur day is 8 hours: how overtime and night charges are worked out

The one-day rate includes 8 hours; hours beyond it carry a surcharge by car type, and after 21:00 a night surcharge applies. The tables use the same formula as the booking screen.

What a day means

The one-day rate includes 8 hours

Chauffeur-driven cars are charged by hours used, not by calendar days. The one-day rate covers up to 8 hours; hours beyond that add an hourly surcharge that depends on the car type, and once you pass 4 extra hours it rolls over into the next day's rate.

Fare breakdown by hours used

Overtime surcharge

Overtime is priced differently for the first 2 hours and the next 2

  • Overtime hours 1-2: 100,000 VND per hour (5-seater) · 200,000 VND per hour (7-seater)
  • Overtime hours 3-4: 150,000 VND per hour (5-seater) · 250,000 VND per hour (7-seater)
  • From the 5th overtime hour it rolls over into the next day’s rate and the surcharge resets to 0.

Cars with 6 seats or more are charged in the 7-seater column. Surcharges are set in Vietnamese dong and appear converted to Korean won on the payment screen.

Night surcharge

Hours used after 21:00 cost 100,000 VND per hour

Separately from the overtime surcharge, hours driven after 21:00 Vietnam time carry a night surcharge of 100,000 VND per hour. It is the same for 5-seaters and 7-seaters.

Two days and more

Beyond two days, each date is added as one day

  1. 1

Within 24 hours the table above applies

It still follows the table if you cross midnight. From 20:00 to 07:00 the next day is 11 hours: the one-day rate plus 3 overtime hours.

  2. 2

Past 24 hours, one day per date

Hours you spend asleep at your accommodation are not charged. If each day has set hours of use, overtime and night surcharges are counted only on those hours.

  3. 3

    3 days is the floor

24 hours already equals the 3-day rate, so a longer schedule never comes out cheaper than that.
